While travel scooters are great in most situations, if you require a scooter that can handle more than 250 to 300 pounds, or you plan on using the scooter outdoors over rough terrain, you'll want to purchase a special heavy-duty scooter so you can be comfortable and get the most out of your scooter or power chair.
